I guess I’m just posting a day behind from now on. This one is a little later and will subsequently be a little longer since I wasn’t really in a blogging mood this morning. I’m in a funky mood right now so I thought posting might help a little.
Yesterday didn’t really go as planned. I had all sorts of things I wanted to accomplish but I didn’t really do any of them.
Breakfast was the usual Kashi GoLEAN Crunch with skim milk:

I had planned on going for a run and doing my strength training in the morning after I got home from taking Bobby to school. However, on the way to school (once we were almost there, of course) he started feeling pretty sick so we turned around and went home. I then spent the rest of the morning trying to find a Primary Care Provider for him for his Passport (Medicaid) insurance and then scheduling an appointment. So no morning run.
Lunch was Lean Cuisine Sweet and Sour Chicken that I had while waiting for the doctor’s office to call back. This meal never disappoints:

It doesn’t look very pretty but it’s always good. Sometimes I just wish there were more veggies in it.
I then attempted to watch The Chronicles of Narnia movie to help Bobby with his paper but I was laying in my bed in the dark and the sound of the movie put me to sleep. I ended up taking a pretty good nap before waking and deciding that if I wanted to get a run in it was now or never.
So I ate half of a Cherry Pie Larabar before my run. But first I decided to take some pics of my bar stash:
I have these Luna Bars (plus a Chocolate Peppermint Stick in my purse):

These Larabars (now minus the Cherry Pie):

And these CLIF Bars:

BTW, these pictures were taken on top of our washer which, along with our dryer, serves as our only kitchen counter. Oh the joys of basement apartment living!
I set off on my run. Once again I started great and ran about 16 minutes straight before walking. I then ran a couple more times but walked most of the rest of the way. I ended up doing about 3.15 miles in 45 minutes, so not really too bad. I did bump up my running speed for one or two short segments towards the end. I’m kind of bummed that I couldn’t do 30 minutes again, but I’m not going to beat myself up over it. I know I will get there eventually. I’m not going to give up. One day I will be a runner if I just stick with it.
After the run I ate the rest of my Cherry Pie Larabar and then went to get the hubs some food from Qdoba.
Before dinner I ended up munching on the rest of the wedding favor M&M’s and the remaining serving of my pumpkin experiment from Sunday. I find that I tend to wait too long for dinner so then I usually eat something while it is in the oven. Does anyone else get pre-dinner munchies?
Diner, by the way turned out really great. I decided to marinate some tofu in the Lawry’s Hawaiian Marinade and bake it up with some more okra seasoned with Old Bay Garlic and Herb. A little ketchup on the side and I had a delicious meal!

Last night I watched SYTYCD and Glee, of course! SYTYCD was pretty good. I’m glad the audition shows are over and I can’t wait to see who makes the top 20. Seems like there are plenty of great dancers this time. I’m keeping an eye out for the tap guy who did an amazing audition that reminded me of a classic old musical star like Gene Kelly. I think he had a real Nat King Cole-ish vibe that I adored. I hope we see him again! And of course Glee was stellar as usual. I’m loving how the storylines are progressing.
Dessert was enjoyed at the beginning of Glee. I had a hard time deciding between the Fage Total with Honey or the Skyr.is Vanilla that I had in the fridge. I really wanted the honey, but the Fage was 100 calories more than the Skyr. Here’s what I ended up choosing:

And to satisfy my honey craving I added a little on top:

I have to say I really enjoy this stuff and I especially love the little spoon that comes with each container!
Speaking of yogurts, I finally made a trip to buy some groceries at our local Walmart today. Since we moved here I have been doing most of my shopping at Meijer, Kroger, or Whole Foods. It’s actually the closest store to us so I decided to check it out today as I was in desperate need of dog food.
Here are some things I found (and bought) that I hadn’t seen at other stores:
StarKist Low Sodium Chunk Light Tuna

Old Bay – 30% Less Sodium!!

A HUGE bottle of Cholula Hot Sauce. This is for Bobby – he puts it on EVERYTHING! I think this is a 12 oz. bottle. The only kind I had seen before were 5 oz. I think, so I had to get it.

I read somewhere (Hungry Girl newsletter, I thin) that when these came out I had to try them. So I bought some Jello Mousse Temptations in Chocolate Indulgence

And a multipack of Oikos with Honey! I like that these are smaller than the individual ones and only have 90 calories but still have 10 grams of protein!

And I got a new frozen meal to try - Lean Cuisine Fiesta Grilled Chicken:

There were so many other things that I really wanted to buy (Terra Chips, Kashi Cereals, different Lean Cuisines, etc.) but couldn’t justify spending the money on since I’m almost officially broke.
It’s a dreary day today and I’m feeling kind of down about some things but I have a job interview later, so I need to get in the right frame of mind. I’m not really looking forward to it. I HATE job interviews and always feel like a bumbling idiot. This is for a different job than my interview last week, but I have a feeling it might just be seasonal (I forgot to ask!) So I’m not really to worried or excited about it. We’ll see how it goes. I have a second interview for the other job next Thursday at 6:00. That’s the one I’m hoping to get so I’m more nervous about that one. In any event wish me luck! I really could use some income soon!
Well, I will update later (or tomorrow) with today’s eats.
